New year, not-so-new blog.

It has officially been way too long since last I posted anything on this blog. It has gotten to the point that every time I think about posting here, I feel so guilty about not doing it sooner that I continue to put it off. (Actually, that pretty much describes most of my academic career as well.)

I hereby declare the impromptu and unofficial hiatus over and done with.

That being said, the time away has done nothing to clarify exactly what it is I’m trying to do with this blog—mostly because I haven’t really been thinking about it. Over two months later and I still have no plan for this blog, beyond continuing with the sort of things I’ve already been doing. So you can expect more book reviews, TV and movie thoughts, and the occasional musing on writing and what it means to be a writer. At least four of these things have already been started, so you can expect them to follow relatively soon.

And, though I haven’t exactly gotten off to a great start, I’d like 2015 to be a year where I work more on my fiction writing again. Plot ideas have been piling up in my brain and I’m starting to feel the itch to get them out of there. You can’t see it, but I’m rubbing my hands together gleefully. In all likelihood, I won’t actually post any original work here, but it’s equally as likely that I’ll talk about my process and my progress.

So. Onward into the new year. Wish me luck!
